For 6 Pancakes
1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
1 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1/2 Tablespoon Water
3/4 cups milk or oat milk
3 tablespoons vegan butter, melted and slightly cooled + additional butter for greasing the griddle if needed
zest of 1 orange
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 tablespoon Amaro
3 dashes Angostura bitters
1/4 cup minced Amarena cherries
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1 oz Brother’s Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Whisk together the dry ingredients. In a bowl, measure milk, vegetable oil, water, Amaro, Angostura Bitters and vanilla extract. Stir in the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Set aside for a couple of minutes.
Heat a griddle at medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot add the butter and let it melt.
When the pan is hot enough, pour a 1/4 cup of batter on the pan for each pancake. Cook until bubbles appear on the face of the pancake. Carefully flip the pancake and cook until golden brown. Mix the bourbon with the maple syrup and pour on the pancakes with a couple of Amarena cherries to garnish.
